Most of us start out our day with a cup of coffee, but I have an even healthier alternative: lemon & mint water! Not only is it fresh and invigorating, but it flushes out the bodies toxins and gets your systems revved up for the day! So whether I am going for a morning workout or headed to run errands I love preparing my water bottle with lemon & mint leaves.
Lemons Lemon water has many benefits such as aiding in weight loss and giving your body natural electrolytes. Lemons are also a great source of Vitamin C and antioxidants which helps maintain your body’s energy while on a diet plan or when working out. Plus, lemon water is amazing for you skin! The Vitamin C in the water aids in producing collagen which actually smooths out lines in the face. Does it get any better?
*P.S. When shopping for lemons try to pick the ones that are the heaviest. The heavier the lemon, the more vitamins and minerals you will get!
Mint Leaves Adding mint leaves not only gives your water some extra sweetness, but it also aids in digestion, helps with cramps and even helps with headaches! Amazing!
I usually will cut my lemon and add two slices to my water bottle; sometimes I also like squeeze the juice into the water. Then I usually add about 2 whole mint leaves without chopping or tearing them.
So next time you are preparing your water bottle for the day try adding some lemon and mint leaves!
