Growing up I was always making the plans. You could find me exploring new restaurants in my neighborhood, thinking of exciting places to go on a Friday night with friends, finding hidden fashion boutiques with the cutest clothing, or even thinking of fun activities to do with my family on Sunday.
I also enjoyed being a leader. From captain of my varsity gymnastics team to President of multiple clubs/societies in both high school and college I knew I had passion for bringing people together.
So my love of exploring new places and creating conversation has led me to where I am today. In 2015, my senior year of high school, I decided to create a blog, Small Talk With Syd, where I would give people my recommendations and provide the inside scoop. However, over the years my brand has expanded to so much more with the addition of the podcast, video series and events.
I tell people that “small talk” is an art form; it’s networking. It’s knowing how to engage in short conversations that make lasting impressions. It’s not only the name of my brand but it’s how I am building my business – by never being afraid to spark up a conversation.
