So many of you have been asking me where I go to beautify myself in the streets of NYC, well I have decided to create a NYC beauty guide so you can check out all of my favorite places!
Eyebrows:
Nicky C Artistry I did not know what good brows were before I met Nicole Cayot, and now she is the only human being I will ever let touch them. We joke around all the time that she is my life saver because she really has saved my eyebrows. Nicole has also worked with major celebs such as the famous model, Gisele Bündchen. She is currently located in Salons by JC on 124 W 24th Street. So, if you want to book an appointment be sure to email her at Nickyinc26@gmail.com, and get ready to have your life changed.
Facials:
Heyday This place offers the best facials for best prices. You can get a 30 min facial for $60, a 50 min facial for $95, and a 75 minute facial for $135! If you get facials frequently you should know that those are really good prices. They also offer other enhancements like microdermabrasion, professional peels, light therapy, and for men – beard therapy! There also also multiple locations so be sure to check out the site!
Christine ChinSeriously if are looking to have just about perfect skin, Ms. Christine Chin is the woman for you. Countless celebrities use her services such as Candice Swanepoel, Mandy Moore and even Gisele Bündchen. She goes by the nickname “Mean Christine” because of her focus on intense extractions and microdermabrasion, leaving skin blotchy and red. However, the results are so worth it because your skin ends up near perfect. She is located on 82 Orchard Street. Make sure to book 2-3 days before an event.
Skinney Med Spa This place literally does everything. They offer the most incredible facials and other options such as chemical peels, skin tightening, coolsculpting, and so much more. I absolutely love coming here. One of the best spas in the city for sure.
Erase Spa This spa offers many different treatments such as laser hair removal, facial peels, and even body shaping. However, I love their JetPeel Facial which is a patented multi-step face and body treatment system that combines the benefits of an all natural hydrodermabrasion, a chemical peel, automated painless extractions and the gentle infusion of European skin nutrients, containing anti-aging Plant Stem Cells, Antioxidants, Hyaluronic Acid and Peptides. Its amazing & so worth it. They are located on 358 7th Avenue on the 4th floor.
Blowouts:
Drybar If you are looking for a quick blowout for a date or maybe just a special night out, then look no further than Drybar! There are about 10 locations scattered throughout NYC and the best part is that a blowout is only $40! Plus, that price also includes a glass of complimentary wine or champagne, so I think it’s a pretty great deal.
Haircuts:
IGK Salon Located inside the fabulous Dream Downtown Hotel this salon never disappoints. I swear this salon is like my version of therapy because the staff are incredible and I just am able to unwind with a cup of coffee (or the occasional red wine) while they make love to my hair. I have gotten the closest with Howard Reyes and now he is my go-to because we have developed an awesome relationship. However, all of their other stylists are really amazing! They also do coloring as well! I will admit that they are a bit pricy but personally when it comes to my hair it’s so worth it.
Manicures/Pedicures:
Chillhouse There is a reason they call this place chill. This dual cafe and spa, offes coffees, colorful lattes & baked goods, plus massages & manicures. Does it get any better? Also, they are known for doing the most unique nail designs. They are located on 149 Essex St.
Sundays Nail Studio (pictured above) There are two locations one in Nomad and the other in Saks Fifth Avenue Downtown. They offer vegan & nontoxic services, including manicures, pedicures, and stress-relieving massages. I love coming here for their lunch special (11am-2pm) for a $15 manicure and a $25 pedicure. It’s a really relaxing setting and they offer complimentary green tea as well. Try to book a reservation first if you can.
Paint Box If you are looking to really add some flavor to your nails then this place is for you. They offer designs unlike any other, so I definitely would recommend coming here for a special occasion because they can be a bit pricy. If you are interested be sure to book a reservation beforehand.
*I have to be honest. When it comes to nail salons I always look up what is my area (I check the ratings & the price). There are always great salons that have great prices with quality results. The ones I listed above are just ones that are well known.
Tanning:
Anna Stankiewicz She is the “it” woman when it comes to spray tans in NYC. She was named the Best of Beauty by Allure, and called the best of the best by Vogue, Shape, Cosmopolitan, and Fitness. I use to only go tanning in beds, but I realized how unhealthy that was for me, now I only do spray tans! If you want that perfect glow for your next event or vacation be sure to reach out to her through Louise O’Connor Salon & Spa.
Laser
Satori Laser I have been coming here for the longest time because of their unbelievable prices. They offer so many amazing deals, especially if you are a first time customer. Laser hair removal can get pretty pricy, so if you are looking for quality service, without breaking the bank, be sure to check them out. They have multiple locations as well. Makeup:
GlamSquad There may be times where you have a really important event to go to, and you need a team to help. GlamSquad offers an app where a team can some straight to your door and get you done in no-time. Could also be really great for groups if you have an huge celebration going on!
Massages/Day Spas:
Rhemedy by Rhed Love this place because of their variety. You can indulge in a 2 hour massage or stop in for 30 minutes for a much needed break. Their therapeutic therapists are truly some of the best in the city. They are located on 230 West 13th Street.
Aire The best day spa in the city. These Turkish inspired baths allow you to truly take a day to yourself. They offer many different packages so be sure to check them out. They are located on 88 Franklin Street.
Teeth Whitening:
Floss Bar The most convenient way to get dental care in NYC! They do a professional in-office teeth whitening for as low as $215! You have to keep in mind that the average NYC rate is $450, so that deal is a literal steal. They also offer other services such as cleaning, x-rays/exams, floss & go (a new service for only $15!) and invisalign! The have multiple located so be sure to check them out! Oh and give them a call before so you know which office is best to go to.
