One of the best things about being in New York is the social interaction. I tell everyone I meet that I am so happy I chose to attend college in NYC because the amount of connections I have made at a young age has already been beneficial to my long term career goals. I also believe that some of the best networking in done at night. You never know where small talk might lead you ;)
Personally, I prefer a lounge over a club any day just simply for the fact that the space is more intimate. Plus, I am able to have the best of both worlds. I can have great cocktail while dancing without being pushed by a crowd of sweaty people. If you haven’t been to a lounge before you should definitely check out some of the places I listed below!
VNYL Plush, multiroom nightclub (more of lounge than a club in my opinion) with a 1970s theme, plus a coffee bar & record shop at the entrance.
Kola HouseStylish venture from PepsiCo offering inventive American cuisine & cocktails in a club-like setting. This multifaceted space was designed by Lenny Kravitz and super chic. They always are hosting amazing events so be sure to check out their site for more!
The Black Lodge Only the locals know about the downstairs speakeasy. Chic decor and tucked away, their secret lounge delivers fine and hand-crafted cocktails.
The Blond Upscale, stylish nightspot at 11 Howard hotel featuring cocktails, DJs & an eclectic bar-bites menu.
Slowly ShirleyClassic martinis & bar snacks in a dimly lit, underground cocktail bar with Art Deco decor. Slowly Shirley is the speakeasy-type bar below The Happiest Hour where you can impress a date with fancy cocktails and old-school vibes.
Metropolis Swanky underground restaurant & bar offering oysters, surf ‘n’ turf dishes, cocktails & live jazz.
