One of the really popular things to do while in California is hike. Everyone does it & if you aren’t doing it you’re going to feel left out. I was a competitive gymnast my entire life, so staying healthy and being fit is a part of who I am (excluding the wine of course). So my goal this year has been to be more active & try new things instead of just the classic (at times boring) gym. Also this year, my roommate & I are going to do Soul Cycle classes & boxing classes, so stay tuned for updates!
There are so many places to hike in LA (and of course even more outside the city). My family and I decided to hike the Runyon Canyon at Ruyon Canyon Park in LA. We chose not to hike a trail that led to the Hollywood Sign because we did not want anything too difficult or anything that would take too much time out of our day. The Runyon Canyon trail was perfect in my opinion because we got a decent workout and we got a great view of the Hollywood Sign!
Basically Rocky Balboa.
How amazing is the view though? Nirvana vibes.
I hope that this post brings you some sort of inspiration! Even if you’re not in LA there are so many ways to exercise and have fun at the same time. Being that I am a full time student, have a part time job & on top of that am trying to build my resume, I understand that exercising can be the last thing on your mind. I think the most important thing is being dedicated to a schedule and following through with it. Do what is best for you & stick with it! For me personally I try to workout out 3 to 4 times a week, and if I don’t want to go to the gym I will find ways to work out at home. Also, start off easy and work your way towards a more intense schedule if that is your goal! I plan on posting my workout routines, healthy recipes, etc. for you guys really soon!
